Grades K-6 at Aldersgate

Wednesdays 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Bull City Kids is for children Kindergarten through 6th grade. We meet Wednesdays during the school year for Bible study and a time of Creative Worship. Our kids often share what they create during this time with the entire congregation on Sunday mornings.

Each summer, Bull City Kids also offers Vacation Bible School to our own kids and to the surrounding community. Occasional opportunities for day camps are also available through our partner organization, Camp Chestnut Ridge.

Our Director of Family Ministries, Lydia Cauley, is a lifelong Methodist and has worked in youth ministry for ten years. If you have questions about Bull City Kids, don't hesitate to contact her at lydia@aldersgate.org.

  • When does Bull City Kids meet?

Regular meetings happen during the school year on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in our Family Life Center.

  • How do I sign up to attend?

No signup or RSVP is necessary. Join us anytime. Just check our church calendar first to make sure we are meeting on the day you'll visit.

  • What do kids do on Sunday mornings?

Kids can remain in the sanctuary with their families at any time; we love to include the whole family in worship. We also warmly invite children in preschool through 3rd grade to join us in the Family Life Center after the Scripture reading for Kids Own Worship. During this time, kids explore the week's Scripture creatively through storytelling, coloring and more.

  • What do you teach the kids?

During Bull City Kids, our time is split between Arts in Worship and Bible Study. During Arts in Worship, children explore how they can worship using music and drama. During Bible Study, children are separated into age groups (K-2nd, 3rd-4th, 5th-6th) for a time of Bible Study that follows the Revised Common Lectionary. Our Bible Study often matches our Scripture reading for the following Sunday morning.

  • Do you offer camp?

Yes! Vacation Bible School and occasional day camps are offered each year. Check our church calendar or reach out to our Director of Family Ministries for details on upcoming offerings.

  • How do you keep kids safe in your programs?

Aldersgate adheres to a robust Safe Sanctuaries policy. We take the safety of our students and leaders very seriously. Click the link below to download a PDF of our policies.
