Sharing moments and updates on missions in the life of Aldersgate UMC
The ladies of the Agape Circle wish to thank the MANY people who helped with our consignment sale earlier this month. After paying the consignors and the charge card fees, Agape netted $1592.54! We will tithe 10% to the church and will use the rest to finance missions that serve children and families locally and internationally. The donated items went to Welcome Baby, Mt. Bethel UMC's Preschool Clothing Pantry, Rougemont UMC's Clothes Closet and TROSA.
We got several new consignors from Helena UMC's Trader Tots Consignment sale as they were unable to have their sale right now. [This was Jack's last church and our Michelle started the sale there!] They gave much of their donated clothing to the Rougemont Clothes Closet so we added them to our list this year. The woman who runs the clothing program there was overjoyed to receive our donations and she bought almost $100 worth of jeans prior to loading up her truck with donations. This is the message that she sent to me afterwards, "Thank you so much for including me in donations today. Thank all your folks for the extra work they did to help gather and help load my truck. This will definitely help our little community meet folks' needs before school starts back. Rougemont UMC has taken on feeding and clothing so many during this pandemic. It certainly can use all the help and blessings they can get. Thanks again for being a part of that blessing." This is why we do this!!!
Many shoppers and consignors said that they hoped we would continue to hold these sales. We appreciate the church's support of our sale and the many people who make it possible. We had 44 of our church members assist with the sale so we shared in a lot of good fellowship!
