Sleep In Heavenly Peace Bedding Drive -Thank You!
The Missions and Evangelism Committee thanks everyone who helped make May 31st a special sunday at Aldersgate. Your support of Sleep In Heavenly Peace resulted in the donation of 153 bedding items! Your generosity helps ensure that “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.”
We have already gotten a great response from a mother with two young boys who are enjoying their new beds.
Now we are going to build some beds. On Saturday, July 11th at 8:30 a.m. we are looking for 25 volunteers to go to the warehouse at northgate mall and help us build 15 beds. This is open to all church members who are 12 and older if you are under 18 you must bring an adult with you.
The work isn’t difficult and there are little jobs to do as well as tutorials provided.

Aldersgate Sunday School
Aldersgate UMC offers three adult sunday school classes on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in the Family Life Center.
- Outbackers
- Iron Men
- LIFT
The Outbackers Sunday school class is starting a study based on the book “The Walk” by Rev. Adam Hamilton. Walking is often used in scripture as a way of speaking about our life with God.
This study explores five essential practices used to positively impact one’s spiritual health. Come join a Sunday School class all are welcome!

Crop Walk Thank You!
Once again, Aldersgate showed that it has Durham’s back! Thanks to more than a dozen-plus walkers, and numerous sponsors and donors, the final tally for in person and online giving was $5,086.
All of the funds raised will help support local, state, and international hunger relief efforts. You truly show what God’s love in action looks like, thank you for your generosity.
AUMC Soccer
Thursday night soccer in the FLC gym – want to join us?? It’s open to anyone 13 and older, and you don’t have to be a soccer pro just to have fun and play.

R Wave Respite

Respite - 10:00 a.m. on the 2nd Floor of the FLC in the Youth/Scout/R Wave Room!
Fun, Games, Socialization, and a hot lunch included
Respite meets every Monday 10am-2pm.
The R Wave Support Group meets on the first and third Mondays of every month at 10:30 a.m. in room 207 of the FLC. Their next meeting is July 20th.
R Wave is pleased to share the following update. R Wave Respite has enjoyed 6 weeks of our new ministry with our Care Partners, Loved Ones and our Super Star Volunteers. We have had Fun, Food & Fellowship every week.

Community Pickleball
Join us in the FLC Gym on Tuesday, June 23rd from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. for community pickleball. Play games or volley back-and-forth with friends. Grab a paddle and come join us for a fun evening!

Keto Support Group
With the help of Dr. Eric Westman from Duke, we coordinated A keto support group for both members and nonmembers of the church. This group meets the first Monday of every month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the FLC Gym. Come join this great group!
