Did you know Urban Ministries of Durham (UMD) works holistically to end homelessness and meet the emergency needs of very poor and hungry neighbors through its programs and in partnership with other nonprofits.  With donations from the community and the help of over 4,000 volunteers, UMD connects 6,000 people each year to food, shelter, and a future?

Did you know that this is a mission of our church?  Did you know that for over 10 years April Twine and for 9 years Bill Smith, along with several others in our church family, have been leading the charge in supporting Urban Ministries with many hours of service each year?  Urban Ministries has come to rely on this mission of our church and your help is needed!

Help them continue God’s work serving our neighbors experiencing hunger and poverty by giving your time in service to this incredible ministry.

April and Bill are looking for at least two, and hopefully more volunteers to serve.

Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for Me.  Matthew 25:40

When and where will I serve?

In the food pantry on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday mornings, and 4th Thursday morning 9 am to 11:30 am.

On call volunteers with a flexible schedule to help with food drives as well as buying and delivering food among other needs that Urban Ministries has from time to time.
